How to install Ubuntu One on Linux Mint

Ubuntu One is a cloud service offered by Canonical Ltd. With Ubuntu One, you can store and sync files across multiple platforms including Linux, MacOS X, iOS, Windows and Android.

Ubuntu One client comes pre-installed with Ubuntu Desktop. However, Linux Mint, a Ubuntu derivative, does not have Ubuntu One client installed by default. If you want to install Ubuntu One on Linux Mint, run the following command.

$ sudo apt-get install ubuntuone-control-panel ubuntuone-control-panel-qt ubuntuone-client ubuntuone-client-proxy

If you are behind a proxy, simply configure your proxy information system-wide via Network Proxy Preferences. Ubuntu One client will then automatically use the proxy setting.
